The founder of this company has been a plant lover from way back, having worked in landscaping and sheltered outdoor/interior scaping. Recently, having looked around, realizing how many plants and blooms are cut for bouquets and then thrown out a few days later seems such a waste: a lot of resources expended on killing flowers, a lot of expense to pay for dead flowers for short-lived occasions.
On average, for the 10 years before the worldwide pandemic arrived in North America, the floral industry cut almost 13 million stems from lily plants to turn them into bouquets, centerpieces, etc. Just lilies! Although society has been dressing more casually over the last few years, we haven’t lost our fascination with beauty in our homes, that’s for sure – quite the opposite. The floral industry has been increasing year over year faster than other retail sectors, and more than the economy itself. It’s true!
